Machete victim hospitalised, suspect arrested

(CNS): A George Town man is in hospital with serious though not life-threatening injuries after being attacked with a machete. Police said the serious assault happened at a house off Eastern Avenue at around 7:30am on Saturday Morning (10 December). Following the 911 call, police went to the address and found a man bleeding from multiple lacerations in the yard at the property.

He was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital, where he is still being treated.

Police said that later on Saturday, a 58-year-old man, also from George Town, was arrested on suspicion of assault GBH and taken into police custody. The suspect has since been bailed.
