(CNS): Police confirmed Monday that a child at the centre of domestic violence situation has not been abducted, quashing rumours that the youngster may have been taken overseas. Speculation mounted and caused a stir on social media when pictures were posted on Facebook of a man in the Red Bay area handing out pamphlets and wearing a t-shirt indicating that a young relative was missing. But the RCIPS has confirmed the child is here in Cayman.

Although police have not released many details, given the sensitivity of the case, they confirmed that on Thursday, 1 December, a 56-year-old man from East End was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill in connection with a domestic matter.

A spokesperson for the RCIPS stated that neither the child nor the mother involved in this matter have left the jurisdiction, adding that police officers met with them today and that the man had been released on bail.

I am a huge advocate for “fathers for justice” against mothers who prevent fathers from seeing their children
Checkout their web site and Facebook ..family law is so in favor for the mother and not father
    Disgusting ..

Family law does not enforce the maintenance law and does not consider deadbeat dads that pretend to be good father in court.

Good For YOU Man !!! Bring awareness to the trauma your child is suffering by losing contact with you ! Stop traffic every day if you want. Screw these posters and their “loss of business”. Your child is far more important.

This mother could easily liaise with DCFS to arrange supervised contact if she fears for some reason. This doesn’t appear to be the case.

This man is fighting for his child. If he doesn’t, you’re all going to call him a deadbeat Dad ! Ridiculous posters.

Fight Brutha ! Keep going public however you have to !

If a true abdication then the cell phone companies should send out mass text messages to every user to be on the lookout on an intermittent basis.

I recall this was done when I lived in the U.S. It was an amber alert and was sent randomly. The phone vibrated and made a noise alerting people of what happened with a description of the child and the vehicle the child was taken into.

You can’t get them to respond to the things they have control over, you really think any of the phone companies are going to be so organized to send a mass text about anything other than their own marketing bs….?

As the mother and Childs safety is most important, if he found her and attacked her again and the mother and child fled for safety, why would it be abduction? Would people rather the mother and child found dead?

CNS, is this about the ‘Summer’ fliers being handled out this morning? Coming in to town from an Eastern district? I thought it was a marketing thing.

There should be permits required for this type of lawless exposure to people who inflict their personal lives on citizens of this island. Think of the lost business and income people endured due to arrive to work late. The RCIPS needs to monitor and impose fines.

No worse than the Compass pushers who hold everyone up every morning. Lock them all up!

Because this is now the RCIPS’s problem?? You are late because the Cayman traffic and road management is the pits.

    • MM says:

Exactly which country are you from? Why should it require regulation for people to search for a child they have reason to believe is missing?

If your child or a child you love was missing would you give a damn about business income and backed up traffic you selfish, heartless, ignorant… you should be ashamed of yourself.aa

My dear God some of the wickedness I read extending from the lost souls of the people on these comment boards makes me want to spit!
