Miss Cayman Islands 2016 – Monyque Brooks

(CNS): Miss Cayman Islands, Monyque Roshel Brooks, has begun mixing and mingling with her competition as the preparations for the Miss World 2016 final gets underway in Washington DC. Brooks (25) is one of more than 120 women competing for the international beauty pageant crown in the US capital. Over the next three weeks, ahead of the 18 December finale, Miss Cayman will compete in various rounds, wearing dozens of different outfits as well as doing interviews with the judges to whittle the field down for the televised final.

On Monday Brooks competed in the talent round and was one of 67 dancers from the 91 competitors to take part in the non-compulsory contest, which could earn her valuable points. Fans can also help Brooks get to the finals by voting for her in the People’s Choice Award via the official Miss World App available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

So as a man, a lady walks on a stage in a swimsuit.
    Do you look at:

    a: Her Personality.
    b. Her Booty.
    c. Her Crotch
    d. Her Legs
    e. Her Cleavage
    f: All Of The Above

My fellow men, feel free to vote on this.
Ladies, which choices do you feel comfortable with?

Let’s get to the bottom of this, so we can shut up the self-righteous, social justice warriors once and for all.

KBL, let me spell it for you. T-R-U-T-H. Deal with it.

Here we go again with “box ” mentality ?

So because you can’t keep your predatory filthy mind in check, young ladies should not enter pageants ..wow!! As you can clearly see from below my message said nothing about damn swimsuits it CLEARLY talks about aspirations and goals whatever that may be .. but I expected you to miss all that 😉

PS if you have an “issue” with the swimsuit section of the competition then that’s your opinion stick to the subject, lots of people feel the same way and that’s fine. But don’t totally try to stomp on a young persons esteem ..grow up! If the swimsuit section was not a part of it who is to say the same young ladies would not have still entered ?!

Will leave you there as they say “Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.”

      😉

How can Monique be a role model to young girls?
Society drills us into thinking that only the beautiful are worthy.

Fortunately, God chooses the lowly of this world to confound the wise.
There are many young ladies that I know who may not be easy on the eyes according to the world’s standards, but they are incredible, charming people, poised and confident in who they are.

They’ve never had to put a swimsuit on to impress me or anyone for that matter.

Isn’t is about time we stopped this garbage and let our girls be girls.
Stop with the ridiculous pressure. As a man, I do not care a hoot about your fake eyebrows, fake eyelashes, caked-on makeup, brazilian whatevers and pathetic high heels.

If you troll with shit, you will most certainly attract flies.
Sorry if I upset the religious among you. It was most certainly my intention.

    • KBL says:

I will keep this short and sweet because evidently you live in a box!

This has nothing to do with looks, makeup, fake anything..This has to do with self esteem and reaching for the stars with damn confidence something a lot of people can’t handle as they more than likely lack it themselves!!

Does this take away anything from those who feel confident in a church dress ABSOLUTELY NOT what it is is merely having found who are you are as a person and what makes you content in WHO ARE and your aspiring to be YOUR VERY BEST AND NOT WHAT SOCIETY thinks you should be . The young lady is on a journey with enough obstacles that each of our children will more than likely face and to have people such yourself speak as if there is something wrong with her journey because YOU think so is CLOSE MINDED to say the least.

We need to encourage each and every child to strive in a positive direction . Pray, Stay grounded , hold on to your morals and principles and don’t be distracted by negativity and peer pressure!!

Sorry said I would keep this short but couldn’t help myself ..

Again, young lady don’t be distracted – if tomorrow you choose to do something else and it’s positive AGAIN do it with confidence 😉

Ps Miss Cayman does not personally know me but I speak for all young kids out there – keep dreaming and be confident in your future objectives lift one another up! There is nothing you all can’t do!!

      • Young Kid says:

You don’t speak for me, I speak for me.

      • Anonymous says:

        Short and sweet?
Let the circus go on, perpetuated by your fake concern and righteousness.
I know young ladies who have done this and regret every minute and I know other young ladies who would never do this.

To be judged on your shape, looks and accoutrements is bullshit. Stay in your box and I will stay in mine.

  4. Just saying says:

What a hateful bunch of people, even a beautiful young woman who is a great role model to other young ladies don’t stand a chance with such hateful people. Lord have mercy.

cayman’s record at these pagents speaks for itself……………

  6. Anonymous says:

Won’t get anywhere. Because the judges choose their friends of friends, instead of who would actually be best to compete on the international stage.

    Backwards, backwards, backwards.

  8. Anonymous says:

    Not my type.

    • Anonymous says:

      I wouldn’t say no.

    • KBL says:

Who cares if she is not your type ??! Her success, achievements and future goals as a confident young woman does not depend on you and what you think of her!! Get a life and refrain from posting such foolish comments clearly you have nothing to do.

Congratulations young lady, reach for the stars and ignore idiots ! Hopefully you will share your struggles and success to inspire other young women ;)!

      • Anonymous says:

        You go girl!

With people like this commenting you would think we had no worthy young men. How many white female overachievers with the same credits to their names have won YCLA now? Where is Mr. Cayman, for that matter, to build up male self esteem? We build up young women in 100 different ways, telling them to follow their dreams while we tell our young men to straighten that tie and cash those cheques. What do you expect to happen?

    • Jennifer says:

Who asked you and what does “your type” have to do with anything? Looks are just a small portion of the pageant and “your type” means nothing to anyone and holds zero value anywhere. Literally have to laugh at such a pointless comment… I’m sure women are just lining up at your door with that attitude and outlook. Lol. Monyque is the total package of brains, beauty & talent and represents our cultural heritage proudly. Anyone who disagrees is likely just jealous or bad mind! KMT

    • MM says:

Thank God! If she HAD been your type I would be concerned about the judges choice!

Congratulations Monyque – enjoy each moment, and remain strong and confident.

Shameful objectification of women. Mr Eden?
