CCTV reveals suspect in GT murder

(CNS): Police investigating the murder of Damean Dwayne Seymour are looking for a suspect wearing a long-sleeved, white shirt and dark pants who was spotted on CCTV running from the scene on Monday. In an appeal for witnesses following the daylight shooting of Seymour, a.k.a ‘Deebo’, in central George Town at around 11:40am yesterday on the corner of Martin Lane, officers working on the case said they have viewed camera footage that shows a man with a fair complexion and a slim build estimated to be around 5’8” to 6’ tall running along Tigris Street.

Police established a major incident room yesterday, 28 November, to investigate the latest gang-related killing.

Although the police have not yet pointed to any specific motive for the killing, it is believed to be gang-related. Seymour was well-known to the police and criminal justice system, having faced a number of serious charges, including murder and armed robbery, between 2004 and 2008. He was acquitted of trying to kill Adolphus Myrie, ironically in almost the same spot where Seymour was shot yesterday.

Seymour left Cayman for the UK, where he spent several years. It is understood that he returned to Cayman last year.

Detectives are urging anyone who may have seen the suspect described above or anything suspicious yesterday from around 11:30am on Martin Drive to contact them at 949-4222.

Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via their Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777 or via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

I saw a man with a fair complexion and a slim build estimated to be around 5’8” to 6’ tall running past my house this morning. He had jogging shoes on. Could this be the same guy?

Seems like the leadership is providing the resources for the crimes you mentioned to be investigated and prosecuted where possible. Do you now want them to ride in the police cars, carry out investigations, prosecute the case, and judge the guilt????

Sad days in these little islands when we have bad men in our capital knocking each other off 2 minutes from our foreign run police station. Its says alot about the state of affairs in our little island. I guess if it doesn’t effect someone’s little Tea party on the lawns of the elite. Yet Cayman image sinks yet another few yards further down in the mires of crime and a unsafe destination for tourist. Where have all our decent local police officers gone????

Fair complexion ? Is it just me who is confused to hell over this description ? Fair complexion ? This sounds like an advert for acne cream . Is he black ? Is he white ? Does he have long hair ? Short hair ? Any hair ? ….so far we know he is a man , he wears clothes, he is maybe 5 ‘ 8 or possibly 6 ‘ and he apparently takes good care of his skin . I’m sure they will clear this one up in no time .
