Woman killed in North Side crash

Scene of fatal crash, 21 Oct 2016

(CNS): Police have opened an investigation into a single vehicle crash in which a 43-year-old woman from George Town was killed in the early hours of Friday morning. Heather Moffitt-Gibson, a local real estate broker, was driving a burgundy Land Rover, which came off the Rum Point Road, near to house #193, and into the bushes. There were no passengers in the vehicle, police said. Emergency personnel were called to the scene of the collision around 3am on 21 October. 

She was taken to Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance but was pronounced dead.

Heather Moffitt-Gibson

Moffitt-Gibson is the 7th person to be killed on the roads in Cayman this year.

Police partially closed Rum Point Road this morning and remained on the scene of the crash conducting inquiries.

Anyone with information regarding this accident is encouraged to call the Traffic Management Unit at 649-6254.

    Heather was a lovely sweet persons an awesome mom to her kids, she loved them very much. I know Heather for several years through my sister from the first time I met her I knew right away she has a good heart, always smiling and always willing to help everyone. I can’t believe she is gone, my heart breaks for her family. My prayers and heartfelt sympathy and may God comfort all love ones in this time of sorrow. God Bless!!

    So sad to know that we’ve lost another life to Cayman roads. I didn’t know Heather personally but I see from the comments here that she was greatly loved by many as are others that have been in untimely fatal accidents on this island. Just a couple weeks ago we lost a 24 year old young man, this is the 7th fatality for this year. Please ALL drivers use caution & saftey!

    Rest In Peace darling Heather. You will always be remendered for being a great daughter, mom, wife, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt-in-law, cousin, niece, neighbor, friend and so much more. Your infectious smile brought a ray of sunshine to so many of us who got to know you. Thanks for helping to build such a close bond between Hannah & Dejea. Heather, God Bless & Keep You Always, ur a great Mom and great wife and great daughter and great Gramma and a great person all together, you have a beautiful and loving heart, i’m so sorry for Bobby, the kids and the whole entire family, this is a terrible tragic loss for them, i pray the Lord comfort their hearts and give them peace, love and hope now and forever, in Jesus Name i pray this, Amen.
