(CNS): A local man accused of stealing seven dollars from a man during a street robbery in which he threatened his victim with a machete will face trial next April after pleading not guilty on Friday. Charged with one count of robbery, James Andy Myles (30), from George Town, was arrested just hours after taking the cash during the mugging on Shedden Road on the night of 29 September. Myles was bailed by the courts but was still on remand when he appeared to deny the charges because there were no available electronic tags, the court heard.

As a result, after representations from his defence attorney, the bail conditions were tightened and Myles was released until his 24 April trial, pending placement on a tag when one becomes available.
