Five injured in early morning car smash

Car crash on Grand Cayman 24 September 2016

(CNS) Police are investigating a collision between two cars on the West Bay Road at around 12:30am Saturday morning (24 September) in which five people were injured, though none of them seriously. Following the crash, which happened close to the Queen’s Court plaza, one of the vehicles caught fire but the blaze was extinguished by Cayman Islands Fire Service officers, who, alongside police and medical personnel, had responded to the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to call George Town police station on 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided via the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477(TIPS), or online here.

    I am very happy that no one was seriously hurt , but I think that they were in a hurry for something.

    Wow ,sad how fast were they going? The speed limit is only 30 mph, right? So they seem to be ok thank God.

      The speed limit on WB Road is only 25 mph.

        That does not answer the question “How fast were they going?” Please do not confuse the speed people are going with the speed limit. If people paid attention to the speed limit these types of accidents would reduce significantly.
