Six Cubans sent back while 83 remain
(CNS): Immigration officials confirmed that six Cuban migrants were deported back to Havana on Monday. It is not clear when the three men and three women had arrived in the Cayman Islands, but 2016 has proved to be yet another very busy year for the local authorities dealing with the arrival of migrants from the neighbouring island. With this small group’s departure, there are now 83 Cuban migrants in immigration custody being housed “at various approved facilities, but primarily at the Immigration Detention Centre”, officials said.
The Department of Immigration is trying to limit the use of civic centers to hold migrants who are awaiting processing and then usually deportation, as there have been concerns about the facilities. In addition to security concerns at the district centres, the Human Rights Commission has raised concerns about the safety and treatment of migrants in detention.

Cuba is changing now, their tourism market is open to American travelers so by next year Cuba should be the top Caribbean destination for US tourists. Things will only get better for Cubabs living in Cuba.

If the people that come as refugees don’t have identification , take photo of each one and date it along with other details about that one , and give that one a name along with the he/she gives you , and you would know all about the person from there on .
Why would you deport 6 that you don’t know anything about , but keep 83 .
Can Cayman Airways take 89 passengers at one time back to Havana, or is this all about keeping the security company in business.
CNS: To clarify, it was not clear from the official press release when the six arrived. It should be assumed that immigration officials know this as the migrants are fully documented when they arrive.
Yes Cayman Airways can take all 89 and more but the CI Government need to send two (2) law enforcement officers with each Cuban so you would need a bigger plane to take the 267 passengers. Maybe they could charter a 767 plane from one of the US carriers that have permission to now fly in there to take them all back and then drop back off the 178 law enforcement officers to Cayman.
I have known of the CIG doing much more foolish things with our money.
