Cayman News Service(CNS): Officers at West Bay police station were confronted with a man bleeding profusely from a stab wound in his arm late Saturday night and rendered first aid as they waited for paramedics. But the blood pouring from the man’s arm helped police nab the suspect. The victim arrived at the station just before midnight on 20 August, and following the emergency treatment he was taken to hospital by ambulance. But the officers then followed the trail of blood from the station to Neon Close, over three-quarters of a mile away, and preserved the scene.

Police said the road was closed for around four hours to allow scenes of crime officers to collect and process the evidence of the stabbing. Detectives conducting the enquiry arrested a 58-year-old man of West Bay yesterday on suspicion of wounding. He was charged Monday and was due to appear in court Tuesday.
