Marcus Manderson

(CNS): A local man who is already serving a long sentence for a firearms conviction plus an escape from HMP Northward admitted Tuesday that he broke into Mr Arthur’s store in George Town more than four years ago. Marcus Manderson pleaded guilty to a burglary at the store in 2012, in which he stole several hundred dollars worth of goods, including cigarettes, lighters, drinks, snacks and even cans of dog food, as well as cash.

The case was adjourned in order to give the prosecution time to review another charge in relation to a break-in at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the same year. Defence attorney John Furniss pointed out that another man had already admitted that burglary and had been convicted and served his term.

He also noted that his client was already serving a ten-year jail term for the possession of an adapted flare gun and an additional 15-months for escaping from prison in August 2013 with his father, Steve Manderson, who is serving a life term for murder, and Jamaican national Dale Chadwick, who was serving a 6-year term for robbery and wounding.

The case was adjourned for two weeks, when Manderson will be sentenced and may have even more time added to his more than eleven year existing term.

Steve Manderson was wrongly convicted by an agenda that he fell victim to.

I remember this young man from primary school days… I could see it would have ended up like this.

    Hmmm… something smells.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he is copping this for someone else. Wonder if he will get any more actual time served? If so, how much compared to what someone else would get for the crime if not already in jail.

“I’ll do you a deal… take an extra year on your sentence (after all you are used to it by now) and save me possibly getting 2 years and I’ll make it worth your while when you get out”

Alternatively a very convenient way for Police to ‘solve’ a 4 year old cold case and improve stats.

Of course that is a very sceptical view of things and it may be that this really is a proper breakthrough…. but….
