Cayman News Service(CNS): The driver of a white Ford truck who was cut from the vehicle by the Cayman Islands Fire Service after a smash on Eastern Avenue, George Town, on Saturday afternoon was treated and released from the hospital without serious injury, police said. The man, who was alone in the truck, was driving south when it veered across the road and hit a silver Honda Civic that was parked on the roadside.

Fortunately, there was no one in that car when the truck hit it but the collision caused the truck to flip over onto its side. The 911 Communications Centre dispatched police, fire and emergency personnel to the scene at about 3:45pm.

The accident is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Traffic Management Unit at 649-6254.
