(CNS): A group of 26 Cuban migrants reached Cayman Brac Saturday evening but the 23 men and three women on board all opted to continue their journey. Officials did not say where they were heading but most Cubans who pass the Cayman Islands are heading to Honduras. They left Sunday morning and have not returned. Officials said that none of them disembarked while they were here and that everyone aboard appeared to be in good health.

Just over a week ago nine Cubans were taken to Faith Hospital on Cayman Brac when their makeshift boat crashed into the rocks on the west side of the island. That group was taken into immigration custody and there are now 74 people being held by the authorities in Grand Cayman awaiting deportation.

When the CIG sends them back the result is the same as that which happened to gypsies and others sent away in the early 40’s the crime will be remembered and brought to the light someday

May God bless them and grant them a safe journey to their final destination and may they fine a better life where ever they go.
