‘Great uncertainty’ ahead, says premier

| 24/06/2016 | 110 Comments

(CNS): The unexpected exit of Britain from the European Union and the possible break-up of the United Kingdom has caused the Cayman government some concern as a result of the uncertainty generated by the leave result in yesterday’s referendum. Premier Alden McLaughlin pointed to the volatility of the economy on the horizon and the possible impact on the relationship between the UK and its territories. “It is too early to make predictions or to be able to say what the full impact of the leave decision will be. But certainly it will be profound,” McLaughlin told his colleagues in the Legislative Assembly.

“It will impact not just the UK … but the overseas territories, crown dependencies and indeed the wider world,” he added.

The premier said Cayman itself had benefited from the European connection through the UK but now there would be some “stormy waters” ahead. However, the sound financial position of the government and the strength of the economy would make the country “an excellent option for businesses and investors looking for a safe haven”, given the political and economic turmoil ahead, he said.

“Even as we watch carefully …. we intend to seize the opportunities created by the current uncertainties to build on the economic success this government has already achieved,” the leader of the PPM said. “I am confident in the continued success of Cayman’s economy. We have for years engaged with the world on matters relating to our financial services industry and we will continue to do so. Our voice will be heard as we have strong links with many partner jurisdictions as well as international institutions.”

McLaughlin stated that the full impact of the leave decision on Cayman won’t immediately be known because of the uncertainty about what new arrangements that could emerge between the UK and the EU as well as the British union itself. McLaughlin said that was planning to speak to the overseas territories minister, James Duddridge, early next week to get an indication on the way forward and the impacts on the territories.

“I will attend the pre-JMC meeting in TCI next month with the overseas territories to discuss this issue in detail,” he said, adding that he would continue to monitor developments and engage with the UK government over the coming days, and when the way ahead becomes clear he would have more to say.

As he completed his statement, Acting Speaker Anthony Eden said he was not surprised by the events yesterday, which he was expecting because it was predicted in the bible. The independent member said the reduction of member states in the European Union was a precursor to the End Times.

I suggest the Premier avoids the same mistake made by other politicians in the world and gets tuned in to the “mood” of his electorate. Selling PPM fundraising tickets in excess of CI$100/person, having work permit fees as one of the biggest revenue source for Gov, along with the antiquated and unresolved environmental/dump issues, letting civil servants repeatedly beat politicians into submission for fear of losing votes only demonstrates how out of touch the current politicians are……….Stop trying to solve everything by throwing money at the problem and have a look what is happening in some other countries…….

It is so much easier to declare Bible prophecy as absolute, delusional nonsense… but, for a book to have been written over 2000 years ago and still have entries that are so relevant to present times whether we like to admit it or not; I think people should ignore it instead of jeer it, or take some of it seriously.

Like all things that have come past the hands of humans, the whole book should NOT be taken literally or even considered in its entirety. There are many matters to dispute, many things that are irrelevant to today and a lot of it that was corrupted during translation. This is while many of the prophecies were written in a form of Biblical code – Almighty knew the potential for humans to corrupt or change things.

With that said; it is hard to dispute that these verses are not relevant to present day and to no other time in history:

2 Peter 3:3-4 – Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”

Matthew 24:7 – For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

    Luke 21:25 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

2 Timothy 3:1-7 – This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Daniel 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.

    —————

And there are many more very applicable “Bible prophecies” that are easily applied to our very current existence regardless of whether you are Christian or not.

Never in history has there been such great access to knowledge, never in history have people been so able to “run to and fro” or travel broadly with such speed and ease.

It is undeniable that people are becoming much more materialistic than compassionate and human life is of much little concern despite the appearance of it being top priority. As artificial intelligence becomes more readily available it will become much easier to make human labor obsolete; therefore there will be little use of the “masses”.

It is easy to ignore this and consider it “conspiracy theory”; it is just easier to live a ‘normal’ life and ignore the sure signs that society is going through a break-down because of selfishness and greed – and when humanity is removed, all hell will literally break loose.

I do not feel that what is happening today is happening because “the Bible said it would”; however, “there is nothing new under the sun” and “history repeats itself” – the Bible says “as in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the end” – the Bible is a book that simply warned us that if A, B and C happens you can expect this result. A, B and C being the replacement of human compassion for self and nature for materialistic pleasure and gain.

All through the Bible most of the “prophecies” indicate that that is exactly what will happen. The so-called end times have nothing to do with a wrathful God wanting to punish or end mankind, however, the end times are a result of humans regression.

We believe that we have attained such great knowledge and capabilities because we have technology, robots that speak and analyze, computers that can perform multitudes of simultaneous tasks, etc, etc… when in truth we have greatly regressed. We do not acknowledge that the greatest thing on earth is life itself, and that what nature provided naturally is much greater than what we derive from it and label as “manmade”. All that we create is in one way influenced or copied from nature and we have the gall to consider ourselves “creators”.

We destroy the earth and sell its treasures to procure more digits on a computer screen that reflects an imaginary amount of physical cash we supposedly own. Then take this cash to buy GMO foods that will surely weaken the only treasure we really own – our bodies or the bodies of the ones we love.

As the song goes “everything I love is killing me” – from chocolates to cell phone signals radiating through our homes. We resolve that we have made life so much easier, and yet I have never heard of more unhappiness, deteriorating health, depression and lack of time or rest as we have today.

As for all the natural disasters spoken of in Bible prophecy – that too is a result of moronic human destruction.

Mother Nature has a fabulous way of protecting itself, as we continue to rape her and her belongings, it is only right that she fights back. The sudden changes in weather, tornado upheavals, sporadic quakes and volcanic eruptions are all Mother Nature fighting back as we strip forests of trees to make paper to print whatever we feel is more important than oxygen; as we suck oil from the ground at unprecedented rates to fuel and power the constantly changing world of technology and all that is in it; For every trillion phones, tablets and computers we spin out and every car manufactured – these days we feel that these things must be had.

This is all what the Bible speaks of; it is not religion, not particularly science either, it is not even really prophecy – it is kind of common sense.

There is only so long this world can function with the current level of human dependency. More than half the earth’s population is consumers – takers, we take, take, take and put nothing back – not even a pepper tree.

Nature is alive, and just like us, it can only take so much before it must fight for its own life.

No amount of population control or recycling can undo the damage already done to this planet; so that is when Earth itself must perform its own “self-cleanse”.. the so-called end of the world. The same cleanse of Noah and any other civilization before that took more from Earth than they gave.

The Bible was a book, written WAAAYYYYYYY before our time, that still managed to accurately depict what would happen if the world continued on the path that it had already, even at that time, began to walk through – and for that, like all historical text, it deserve respect and serious consideration.

The scholars who compiled the Bible could only do so with the knowledge of their era and the limitations of ancient language and available translation – and to this day it is still the #1 best seller on Earth. Dispute that.

Our Premier’s “dire warning” does not appear to be directed towards the best interests of Caymanian job seekers. Last night on Cayman 27, Premier McLaughlin invited and welcomed those who may be directly and promptly impacted by Brexit to “come to work, and live Cayman which is a stable environment”

This broad invitation comes days after the graduation ceremonies of our two largest high schools and immediately after a major world financial institution announced they’re moving 2000 jobs from London!! Of course, earlier this week the Premier justified Government’s increased revenue projection from work permit fees!!

Seems to me that the Premier of the Cayman Islands most certainly seems more interested in providing job opportunities for foreigners than Caymanians.

Anyone who accuses my comment of xenophobia or fear of more immigration should question exactly why the UK majority voted in favour of Brexit. It is also the same sentiment which has propelled Donald Trump in the US and will likely elect him as their next President.

Simply put, people across the world are becoming justifiably concerned with the future of their respective national identity. But whee we reflect same in Cayman, we’re accused of prejudice and xenophobia!!

Why can’t we be concerned about protecting our national interests and identity??!!

    • Anonymous says:

You are totally correct! Every country or union of countries in the world has some form of immigration restriction for the benefit of their people. It changes with needs of their people. Except in cayman where the immigration policy, but not laws, have been been changed by the premier for the sake of permit revenues and his surplus at the expense of the unemployed and the underemployed. Devastating effect to the Caymanian people. I preferred ppm’s last term in office where they did nothing.

This is End Time Bible Prophecy in Revelation/Daniel.

This is the way the One World Order Government System – The New Modern Day Revived Roman Empire/Kingdom/Government – is going to come about. Because of economic collapses, currency collapses, etc. The G7 Countries are Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. They control most of the World’s production/industrialization/wealth, it is out of this group of 7 Countries will come about the New One World Order Government and the Illuminati is all involved in this too. Bible says 7 Heads and 10 Crowns, Heads are Leader Countries / Crowns are Monarchies.

So all Countries are going to be under the New One World Order System, so there are no options, all Countries are going to be under the same rulership. So you can’t worry about anything, because it’s the same outcome no matter which way you go. One World Order Government System. And the Roman Vatican Pope will be an assistant Leader in the New One World Leadership as well with a New One World Religion that will accept all Religions and Homosexuality in the New One World Religion.

The Bible says there is War to happen first before the New One World Kingdom is established. That War is called the Gog Magog War in Ezekiel 38-39, Russia, Iran, Turkey, Libya, Sudan/Somalia all the ….stan states of the Old Soviet Union will attack Israel (Islam along with Russia against Israel) and God is going to give Israel the miraculous victory. Bible says 85% of all these soldiers from Russia and these Islam countries will die in this war. So there will be no more threat from Russia or Islamic terrorism in the World after this as their armies will be almost totally wiped out. This will happen in Israel and Israel will collect all their nuclear weapons and use them for fuel for years, so these armies that attack Israel not only lose 85% of their armies, but they lose also most of their weapons.

So all the currency/economic collapses in Countries all around the World along with the big wipe out of Islamist terrorists country soldiers and the Soviet Union/Russia will be how this “New Modern Day One World Order Government Roman Empire/Kingdom” – “ARISES out of the Sea” the Bible says. The Sea holds all Countries in it, the Sea unites the World as One, so that’s why the Bible says this Beast with 7 Heads and 10 Crowns will arise out of the Sea.

I could go on and on but will sign off for now… I didn’t write Bible prophecy, i’m only telling you what’s written in it and how it lines up with what’s going on in the World these days.

    Jesus is the lifeline.

Anthony Eden if Britain’s exit from the EU is a “precursor to the End Times” then you should be worried and I trust that your heart will become more filled with tolerance and compassion for your follow man and woman. Remember like all, you too will be judged.

On whose authority has the whack job Anthony Eden been elevated to acting Speaker of the House? Shouldn’t he be humanely removed from the burdens of office to prepare for the rapture?

“‘Great uncertainty’ ahead, says premier”. He should know… He is well-versed in uncertainties.

You have to get into the mind of Anthony Eden when it comes to Bible prophecy; especially about the topic of the Antichrist. References of him in the books of Daniel and Revelation. Eden comes from the futurist or historist schools it seems of Bible prophecy interpretation.

Such passages mentioning the “10 horns” is futurist or historist interpreted to mean 10 European nations. And from the midst of these nations a “little horn” shall arise. This little horn power will be the Antichrist to come.

Eden must believes when the UK leaves the EU, other nations will follow, reducing the number to 10 nations left. And then from the turmoil the Antichrist will arise.

    Some passages – Daniel 7:7,8,24,25

7 “After that, in my vision at night I looked, and there before me was a fourth beast—terrifying and frightening and very powerful. It had large iron teeth; it crushed and devoured its victims and trampledunderfoot whatever was left. It was different from all the former beasts, and it had ten horns.

8 “While I was thinking about the horns, there before me was another horn, a littleone, which came up among them; and three of the first horns were uprooted before it. This horn had eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that spoke boastfully.

24 The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will arise, different from the earlier ones; he will subdue three kings.

25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his holy people and try to change the set times and the laws. The holy people will be delivered into his hands for a time, times and half a time.

The islands are in a better position than they have been in a very long time. Also we have a Government and Premier with the intellectual capacity to deal with the consequences of brexit. You may not like the Hon. Alden McLaughlin and you are entitled to your own opinions, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

Noah was also a funny comedian! That guy said some absurd things and built a boat to prove his madness. He hated gays too.

If he was living today, he’ll hate them more for stealing his rainbow and making it into their banner.

But oppss … didn’t Jesus prophesied and said, just like the days of Noah (the rainbow days) so shall be prior to Judgement ??? :))
