Police seize gun following nightclub brawl

Cayman News Service(CNS): Two men have been charged with firearms related offences following their arrest on Saturday night in the wake of a fight in a nightclub car park. Police recovered an unlicensed 9mm handgun and bullets from a car when they turned up at the parking lot of the Fete Nightclub (formerly Dreams) at 426 West Bay Road around 3:10am Saturday, 7 May. The two men, aged 24 and 25, from North Side and West Bay, were expected to appear in court Monday.

Police said they were called to the parking lot following a report of a fight involving multiple people. When officers arrived there was no fight in progress but a large crowd was present. Enquiries led to the recovery of the weapon and ammunition from a car and the arrest of the two men.

Today they were both charged with two counts of Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (ammunition and weapon).
