Man attacked in Brac bar by gang of four

La Esperanza, Cayman Brac

(CNS): Three teenagers and a 24-year-old man have been arrested following an assault last Friday night on a 40-year-old man who was working at La Esperanza bar on Cayman Brac. Police said that just after 9:00pm on 22 April, the employee at the bar was physically assaulted on the premises by two boys, aged 15 and 16, and two men, aged 18 and 24. The victim sustained a head injury and was transported to the Faith Hospital in a private vehicle. He was flown to Grand Cayman the following day and admitted to the George Town Hospital overnight but was discharged Sunday and he returned to Cayman Brac that same day.

Police said the victim and the four accused are all residents of Cayman Brac.

On Saturday, 23 April, the two boys and the two adults were arrested by officers from the Cayman Brac Police Station.  They are currently on police bail.

In an unconnected incident, Brac officers arrested a 38-year-old man from Cayman Brac on Thursday, 28 April for possession of ganja. He is also now on police bail.
