Couple arrested over semi-automatic gun

(CNS): Armed police officers arrested a man and a woman around midnight Friday night/Saturday morning for possession of an unlicensed firearm. The RCIPS firearms unit was on patrol near to a nightclub parking lot along the West Bay Road when they arrested the couple, having recovered a loaded semi-automatic pistol. No shots were fired and no one was injured. Police said the matter is now under investigation and further information will be released at a later date.
