Cops arrest suspect after beach mugging

Cayman News Service(CNS): Police have arrested a 32-year-old man from West Bay after a reported mugging on West Bay Public Beach in the early hours of Sunday morning, 17 April. The victim, who reported the crime at the district police station just before 2am yesterday, said he had been punched and kicked in the head by a man he knew and that the robber, who was was armed with a knife, took his mobile phone. Police said the victim was taken to the hospital by police officers, who then went to the beach to check the area. The suspect was arrested early Sunday morning and remains in police custody.
