AIDS cure in a few years a real possibility

Cayman News Service(CNS): Scientists in the US believe that HIV and AIDS can be cured using genetic editing technology, a breakthrough that could become a reality in just a few years. Researchers at Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University are confident that within three years they will be able to begin clinical trials on humans. Current treatments cannot cure HIV and can only try to stop the HIV virus from spreading within the body.

    A lot of research scientists specializing in HIV/AIDS won’t be happy to hear this, because once there is a cure there will be no more funding for their research, leading to joblessness.

    That’s how the research industry works, and in many cases it’s why medicines only ease the pain and make living bearable, rather than outright cure the problem.

      I guess you think all those people who contracted AIDS as a result of transfusion of contaminated blood products should have become Jehovah’s Witnesses before agreeing to the procedures?
