Sex crime suspect goes on the run

Cayman News Service(CNS): The police are on the hunt for an unidentified 36-year-old man from Bodden Town who is on the run following allegations of an indecent assault on an underage girl. In order to protect the identity of the victim, the RCIPS has released only limited information about the case but said the man is the young victim’s coach.

The indecent assault was reported to police last Friday (19 February) but while police officers were taking the necessary report that day, the suspect left the Cayman Islands.

“International law enforcement mechanisms have been alerted in the matter, and we will keep the public updated regarding developments,” police said.

There is no indication if the suspect is local or a foreign national or where he is believed to have gone.

Do the Governor believe in protecting women’s rights ? Do the parents believe in having their kids protected and their rights protected ?
Then they all should get together with the Governor and do something about this last sex assault because this sort of thing should not be happening to the kids and destroying their lives..

Since this is not a allegation within a family, identifying the suspect would not lead to the identification of that suspect since the range of persons who could be a victim would be broad. Has the police asked the victim of they mind the suspect being named? Or are they glad that a well connected individual has fled and would rather the matter went away quietly?

  3. Circumvent Horizon says:

Foreign nationals are always given the opportunity to leave and most due. Caymanians go straight to jail.

Ah ah the story is out and we have the evidence to show the world how slap our ministry of sports was when they had evidence on hin and they swept it under the table. Hr should never had been training these children. It will come out one day just watch. They did nothing but it shall be revealed soon

  5. Defendthekids says:

The only time the police will do some real work is when a white child from the private school or some child whose parents are top lawyers on the island has been raped. The police are a joke majority are from JA who don’t take child rape seriously half of them probably can’t read or write!

  6. Anonymous says:

Am I missing something? The report clearly said that the suspect left before the report was made to the police or thereabouts. And what about the number of persons convicted for a range of serious crimes from robbery, corruption, murder, rape etc? In fact, last time I heard the Prison was at capacity. and those asking for the identify to be released are not interested in assisting the police but only to fill their appetite for news and to gossip!

  7. Anonymous says:

The three main things hurting and holding this island back. Politics, religion and incompetent police officers from JA who can hardly read and write much less solve a crime. Trust me I have seen some of their so-called reports and my 5 year old could do a better job.

Why oh why do we always blame the evils of Cayman on foreign nationals? There are enough of your own people to commit heinous crimes. Cayman needs to understand that evil and crime can be done by all nationalities and Caymanians are not exempt from any form of sex crime (or others). The foolishness continues in this place!

Well this guy who fled is a foreign national and was likely tipped off by the police … most likely foreign nations!

    • Anonymous says:

Gee we know that the police are doing a poor job, we know that a lot of criminals are getting off due to poor reports and we know that a lot of the police are from Jamaica. But thats okay we need to look at the cayman criminals and not the police we pay top dollar to protect us. They do a much better job protecting criminals than regular citizens.

      You again.

  9. Sharkey says:

I really think that if this suspect rapest has left the Islands and police were not able to catch him , then I think that the Governor needs to do a investigation into the police department, to know why he was able to escape after the crime had been reported , if she cares about women rights .

Why would this report be brought to the public attention about 4 day after the report was made ?

  10. Anonymous says:

Not a lot to go on for Joe public to assist is there? A 36 year old man eh. Well that narrows it down to a few thousand. RCIPS, you need to do better.

  11. Anonymous says:

They do not take sex crimes seriously in the Cayman islands. There has been a guy masturbating at folks back doors for three months now at the same spot in West Bay and still he has not been charged. It is not even considered a big enough deal to inform the other officers in West Bay as each time there is a new report and a different officer we have to start from the beginning again. A total joke

  12. Anonymous says:

Chances are he’s not local if he fled the island so quickly…..where is he going if he’s local England?

  13. Anonymous says:

but this same coach the ministry of sports knew that he did this before but no left him there because of who he is married to. shame on the ministry of sports

ahah! The story is leaking out finally. i am a grandparent and worried. At least tell us Where it happened ???

Why are all of these criminals allowed to enter this country? Why Franz Manderson won’t put fingerprinting in place. Then he would be earning his keep.

  14. Anonymous says:

My apologies… I meant to say…. Minister Bodden are YOU aware of this mans behavior pattern? Poster 9:04pm… yes I agree some teenager DO fake…but take it from me and many others would agree….not in this case..this man is sick…

  15. Anonymous says:

Did the RCIPS not alert Immigration while they were “taking the report”? And are there not some 400 or so Police Officers here? Could they not have watched the few points of exit of our 2×4 island?

    • Anonymous says:

I understand someone from the RCIPS alerted HIM!!!!!

      • Driftwood says:

That is a very serious allegation. I take it that as a public spirited upstanding member of the community you have fully reported this to the RCIPS.
Oh thought not so either stand up or shut up!!!!!!
Secondly read the article suspect had fled prior to the report

They are the informers for their friends. When are we going to flush the septic and get a facelift.

  16. Anonymous says:

    History of inappropriate behavior.

  17. Lloyd says:

    It’s who they connected to.

  18. Turtle says:

I know there is a young lady involved, I am sure the police can still let the public know who they are looking for, if they had just shown a picture of this person and not said he is the coach of this girl, a majority of the public wouldn’t have figured it out. If we had it would have been via the marl road, in fact I’m sure by the end of the week I would have heard the full story and would know who. They are looking for anyway.
Let’s get this guy, RCIPS give us the name and picture so we can help you catch this despicable person.

    • Cox says:

Give me a break! What you going do, round up a group of concerned friends and yourself to travel abroad and get him?
Strange how people here selectively stand up and be counted.

    • Karen says:

Hmm I am sure he is far deep in Trinidad and Tobago right now. From what I heard after his first interview with the police, he left and went straight to the airport.

  19. Papito says:

Bring back sweet Jamaica too much criminals bout ya!!!!! Foreign Police ain’t going to put any effort into arresting their own kind. On the other hand a Caymanian would have been nabbed just on the say so.

It’s shit like this that makes law abiding citizens pissed. One minute the police begging for our help, the next they accusing us of “knowing but not talking”, and now they protecting the person they want. I assume this “coach” was coaching more than one person?????? How in the hell would we have know who the victim was??? It’s not like he was being questioned in relation to molesting his own child, which we could understand the reasoning for not revealing names or pictures. But even then I have to wonder.

This is just another example of the absurd backwoods, 1700’s crime fighting tactics that is deployed here. Absurdistan.

  20. Allar says:

Here we go again. These clowns need information and can’t give more than he was the girls coach. His face should be published as a person of interest and a warrant for his arrest. They could publish McKeeva and Canova faces so why not a rapest

    • Anonymous says:

Don’t you understand that they HAVE to protect the identity of the victim? How would you handle it? Idiot!

      • Anonymous says:

He coached a lot of kids so disclosing his identity will not say who the child/children are.

      • Protect & Serve...My backside? says:

I understand they want to protect the identity of the victim. What about the other girls that are training. They could have been victims as well but who will know. We just want to know who the suspect is. 1 suspect vs 15 victims. Who are the RCIPS really trying to protect?! Most officers can hardly yet alone correctly provide decent police reports. Smh

    • Anonymous says:

Fake story…seriously….please be quiet because you clearly do not know what you talking about. This man has been molesting underage girls and running around with numerous women of age…even though he is married.

This is nothing new…its been alleged that he been messaging his private parts, to underage girls for years now and keep getting away with it. Why?… because parents are embarrassed to follow through with the police, they have even presented material to heads of organization but then never follow through for one reason or another. One I get to understand even sent her daughter off island.

If all these people ever came forward this man would be locked away by now, at least no longer coaching children and allowed at the stadium. What these parents should realize is that this pervert will not stop, so unless people like them stand up, he will continue his behavior. this is the exact reason why he on the run now. This backyard way we have here in Cayman… that encourages us to remain silent need to stop. It is time we wake up…step up and speak up!

He need to be stopped from coaching by CIAA also banned from the stadium by the Ministry of Sports….Mr. Bodden are aware of this mans behavior pattern over years?…I urge you to investigate this situation Sir.

    • Diogenes says:

To be fair, they are not asking for the publics help, and they say they are using international law enforcement mechanisms i.e. international arrest warrant So publishing his photo here adds nothing, and raises issues for the young victim – and others under his supervision as well.

      • Anonymous says:

Cool. This international arrest warrant thing seems handy. Can we please have one for that woman accused of stealing from the Pines?
