Cayman News Service(CNS): The driver of a dark blue or green SUV may have witnessed the sexual assault on a woman who was out running on Saturday morning on South Church Street. Police are urging the man who was in the area at around 7:30am on 30 January at the time of a second attack on women exercising to come forward because he may be able to help police identify the assailant. Police are also asking other women who may have been victims of this sex attacker to come forward.

“This man may have information relevant to the investigation, and we are asking him to call George Town CID to speak to detectives,” an RCIPS spokesperson said in the appeal.

Saturday’s sexual assault was the second reported attack in the area on women exercising in a matter of days but police said there may be other victims who were similarly attacked but have not reported it to the police.

“We urge these women to come forward and share this information, which could be critical to the apprehension of the individual responsible,” the police added.

Anyone with information or who may have seen a man answering to the description of the assailant in the South Sound area is asked to call George Town CID at 949-4222 or 324-0684 (mobile).

police need to do there job and use the trained females to dress up in tight gym cloths and go do some jogging to catch the perv but no one thinks of these simple methods

Anyone with a little bit of determination and a brain would have picked this person long time ago. This island is so tiny for this to be happening with no consequences. If a member of public decides to do so, make sure you have some camera to record it, otherwise a judge will set him free.

This appears that the police have looked at the CCTV and knows the color and make of the vehicle that was in the area at the time of the report , so that drive must have seen something. If that person don’t come forward , then that person is just as bad as the scumbag / criminal .So then women you watch out for the discription of vehicles drivers that the police gave.

Since reading this I now know they are looking for this vehicle. Maybe the cops should try TV and radio to get this message out? Not everyone reads the news online.

CNS: This article was based on a press release from the RCIPS that was sent to all media houses, including TV and radio.
