John Gray High School construction site

(CNS): The police are on the lookout for three men who ran away from the John Gray High School construction site on Saturday after they were approached by security personnel. Police said they received a report of a burglary at around 3pm on 6 February after security staff saw the men behind the school compound off Walkers Road. When they headed toward the area the men ran from the storage building on the site and escaped in a white car.

According to the RCIPS, since last week the George Town CID has been investigating the theft of a large quantity of construction materials, including copper wire, from the same storage area at the construction site.

Detectives are urging that those with information regarding this theft of materials contact George Town CID at 949-4722 or the Miami-based call centre of Crime Stoppers at 800-8477 (TIPS).

There should be no materials open to theft since no construction has taken place at JGHS since the last PPM administration or not enough to make a difference anyway. I am sure CIG has bought the same materials that are being stored mulitiple times over for other projects rather than using what they have. Perfect example of why the PPM cannot be trusted with other people’s money – ours!

@ 9:17 am, why do you hire Security guard ? Is it to prevent robbery , or to let your property get robbed.

if the security personnel were alert they would have seen the white car coming in and could have avoided any theft….hummmmm wonder which security company this government school has employed????

Who cares which security company were working? The crime that occurred is theft not incompetent security guards!

Sorry 9:17am yes it is incompetent security, government hires “certain” security companies and they are not doing their job, yet keep hiring them, shall i remind you, eg., police container, cuban detention centre for a few examples.

Doesn’t there have to be construction going on for it to be a construction site? Whatever these guys stole is nothing compared to the amount of our money the PPM wasted on this
