Cops arrest elderly woman in gun case

(CNS): An 83-year-old woman from West Bay has been arrested on suspicion of the unlawful possession of a firearm following a police raid on Thursday morning in the Logwoods area of the district. The RCIPS said that the  woman was arrested alongside a 46-year-old man after police found an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at the house where they both live. The operation took place at 6:15am today and involved officers from the RCIPS Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force, K-9 Unit and Uniform Support Group.

Police said the woman was bailed shortly after the arrest but the man remains in police custody.
