(CNS): A 21-year-old man was arrested by the police at the main courthouse on Wednesday after the RCIPS officers on duty there found an undisclosed amount of ganja when he passed through the security system. The George Town man was arrested for possession of ganja and suspicion of consuming a controlled drug. The accused was visiting the court building at the time but was bailed after his arrest to return to the George Town Police Station at a later date. This is the second time someone has been caught with drugs at the court in the last few months.

In August a 53-year-old West Bay woman was arrested on drugs charges when she was found to be carrying ganja during the security check.

Everyone attending the main court buildings is required to pass through a security check and search, which is manned by police and not a security company.
