Sepp Blatter

(CNS): In the face of the mounting scandals, executives at the world’s football governing body, FIFA, have finally indicated an intention to suspend their president, Sepp Blatter, but only on temporary suspension for three months. Officials from FIFA’s Ethics Committee recommended putting him on the short term suspension in connection with allegations over a 2005 TV rights deal between FIFA and Jack Warner, the former president of CONCACAF.

The news comes following the announcement last week by the Swiss authorities that Blatter was now part of their widening probe.

Since the bribery corruption scandal broke in May, when Cayman’s Jeffrey Webb and a number of football administrators from FIFA and sports marketing executives were arrested and indicted over a massive US 1$150 million investigation, pressures have mounted for Blatter to resign. He offered to step down days after being re-elected president in the wake of the arrests but said he would not do so until next February.

The decision to suspend him has to be ratified by the Adjudicatory Chamber of the Ethics Committee, led by German judge Hans-Joachim Eckert, and if it goes ahead will see Blatter suspended until early January.

Fairer play at last. It was a mystery how the Europeans were the pious crusaders for change focusing corruption allegations on us.

Now their dolly house is facing some headwinds and it doesn’t look good. Well played English FA. You backed Platini and now his skeletons are being borne out. English press and vaunted investigative journalists are strangely quiet.

See them sending reporters to France to study Platini’s background etc? Good timing with Volkswagen scandal. these Europeans looking down on the rest of us.

So us 3rd world regions don’t have a monopoly on corruption after all eh? Ha
No the fact is we shouldnt be the beneficiaries of corruption- only them. Lesson is trust none of these power mongers.

Final fact: all world cup bids were corrupt. England and USA’s bribes were too small. Hence they didn’t win.

The only losers are us as fans.

Looks like Costas Alotus is finally on his way to join his old buddy Jeffie. Hands up if you think he can come up with the same bail money.

In an unambiguous wold, let’s just say that my son was skiing down the privileged slope of Upper Echelon and I knew that the cash was supplied on the field of Footie, I would be somewhat concerned right now.

Wasn’t CG supposed to be setting up a FIFA World Court for Sport Arbitration or something like that? Maybe we could end up trying Sepp Blatter right here in Cayman.

7 :37 and if we did that who would take care of you. I was told it’s better to keep quiet and we thought a f… than to speak and remove all doubt.

Wow, like a huge opera everyone is singing from all corners of the stage. Platini will be next in line which will open up another line of enquirer, hopefully, not leading to the Cayman Islands.
Then, it will be the Cayman Islands show down featuring our favourite son of the soil and many others.
If you get bored of that, switch it over to the Canover HSA proceedings with lots more to come.
Maybe these will be delayed until the UK implements the beneficial ownership legislation next year giving a little more flexibility to bring more people into the spotlight.

Time to stock up on popcorn.
