Driving with due care and attention does not seem to exist anymore. So many nationalities coming here having never driven a car before in their life or those who drive like maniacs where they come from creates a dangerous situation on the roads. Most are ignoring road codes or maybe don’t understand them and other don’t give a hoot. Drivers overtake where they should not, don’t stop for school buses, overtake on the left side if there is any space, like in the mornings on Shamrock road in front of the entrance to Mahogany Way in Prospect. Stopping where and when they want to without any regard for holding up a line of vehicles behind them; Prospect this morning! the list goes on and on. Its going from bad to worse and many act as if they alone own the road. Its no wonder there are so many accidents.

Can the RCIP please do some control between 5:00 p.m and 7:00 p.m. in Savannah somewhere between the school and Dominos???? This stretch becomes a race track, especially for those dump truck drivers and I am sure some routine policing there could catch quite a large number of offenders.

Really? Normally on my way home from work between 5 and 6 I encounter only people driving at 25 in the 40 zones even though there is no traffic in front of them. Maybe you are just seeing all the frustrated drivers speeding off once the slow poke moved out the way:).

The main problem, and one that most people simply do not understand, is that all walls and fences on Grand Cayman have powerful magnetic properties. Even on the straightest of road sections vehicles (which are predominantly made of metal) are mysteriously and violently pulled into direct contact with these structures.

A comprehensive Government commissioned study is required.

The problem is, there are too many first-time drivers on the roads here. People whom have never owned a car get one and are turned loose on the roads. People from other Caribbean islands who drive like mad max.

The standard of driving here is appalling, thank God we don’t have a cold climate with drivers dealing with ice and snow.

Always thought it would be fun and games sitting at Burger King on West Bay Rd 3.52, watching the idiots on 2′ of compacted snow, trying to stop before they got to Lone Star. weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Worn tires that have no tread behave like ice skates in wet weather.
