Cops net one machete robber, hunting for another

Cayman News Service(CNS): Police are on the hunt for a second suspect in a street mugging on Monday evening after one man was arrested. Two men armed with a machete held up a 45-year-old man from West Bay in the Banana Walk area of Cruz Lane in central George Town at around 5:30pm, according to a police report. The muggers stole over $500 cash from the victim’s wallet and during the ensuing struggle the man received minor injuries.

Shortly after the incident was reported, one of the local suspects was arrested. Police are now looking for the second robbery suspect, who is also said to be a local man.

    All violent armed robberies MUST attract a mandatory minimum sentence.

    Use any weapon and you get at least 15 years. Cause injury and you get 25 years. And if you end a life then you get life. No possibility of parole in all scenarios.
