(CNS) An unidentified 22-year-old man from West Bay has been charged with a catalogue of serious offences, including attempted murder and the possession of an unlicensed firearm, after leaving hospital, where he was being treated for stab wounds. The list of charges stem from two incidents at the beginning of July. The man is facing charges of common assault, threats to kill, theft and criminal damage in connection with an incident on 1 July at Sunburst Lane in the Batabano area of West Bay. The attempted murder and gun charges relate to an incident just a few days later at the same address.

During the second incident on 4 July the man sustained stab wounds to his chest and head, and although he was arrested by police, he was in critical condition and was hospitalised for an extended period. Police said he was charged following his release from the hospital and was expected to appear in Summary Court Thursday morning.

Police have not revealed the full details of the incident and no one has been charged in relation to the injuries sustained by the suspect. At the time of the 4 July report, police said shots were fired in Sunburst Lane and a firearm was recovered from the scene.
