(CNS): Two brothers from George Town, Osbourne Douglas (28) and Justin Ramoon (23), both denied murdering Jason Powery (20) in a suspected gang-related shooting last month outside a George Town bar. Standing in the dock in Grand Court on Friday morning, the men pleaded not guilty to the charges of murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm regarding the killing, which happened near the Globe Bar in Martin Lane in the central area of George Town late evening on 1 July.

The brothers were both remanded in custody until their trial, which is scheduled to take place in January next year.

Powery, from West Bay, was the third person killed this year in what were all believed to be gang-related shootings. Victor Yates and David Ebanks were both killed in separate incidents outside West Bay bars in January.
