(CNS): As many as 30 British people could have been killed in the terrorist attack in Tunisia Friday, as it is understood that most of the 38 victims in Sousse were holidaymakers from the UK. With 21 people from the UK confirmed dead and several more as yet unidentified, the Cayman government flew Union Jacks at half-mast on public buildings Monday as a show of solidarity in the face of the terrorist attack.

The gunman, Seifeddine Rezgui, who is thought to have been inspired by the Islamic State (IS), shot at people on a beach at the resort close to the Imperial Marhaba and Bellevue hotels.

Three Irish people were also killed, along with Belgian and German victim. Tunisians are also thought to be among the dead and at least 36 other people were injured.

The assault is the biggest loss of British life to terrorism since the 2005 London bombings, in which a total of 56 people were killed. Detectives, forensic science specialists and family liaison officers from Scotland Yard have been sent to Tunisia to assist the investigation and prevent further attacks. Tunisian investigators said last night they were seeking one or more accomplices to the 23-year-old killer, Rezgui, who was shot dead by police after the attack.

Meanwhile, the UK is on a heightened terror alert and the country has set a formal minutes silence for the dead this Friday.

Not so a text came in and the person raising the flag forgot to finish the job

May they all rest in peace. No one deserves that, at any time, in any place. And Cayman should look at its security, and not rest thinking we are safe. As a major financial centre and tourist resort we are a target.

Flags are flown at half staff when from a pole and half mast when from a ship.

If FOX news is telling you that a correspondent is asking ISIS not to attack on the 4th, they probably will. If this terror attack follows in the footsteps of sandy hook, charleston shootings, or the charlie hebdo shooting it was more than likely a False Flag attack.

This is a shame and disgraceful to human life and the value of non protection to the citizens, to let this terrorism continue to innocent people. Last night a man said on FOX news that he would advise I.S.I.S not to attack the U.S.A on the 4th of July. I think that it would be the same as what Cameron is doing asking for flags to be flown half mast in respect of the victims. What is Cayman Islands doing to prevent such tragic from happening on our beaches ?

I did not know that ISIS did what someone asks on Fox News.

If they are going to attack Cayman for flying flags at half mast, then they may attack anyone commenting on the story too. If I were you I would hide in your house and stay away from the internet just in case.

And maybe stop paying too much attention to FOX news

Which man on Fox? The xenophobic nutcase? The anti-foreigner racist? Please be specific. It is very important.
