(CNS): The fourth liquor store in three weeks has been robbed by an armed assailant. Police say that just before 10:00 last night (Friday 8 May), 911 received a report of a robbery at Blackbeard’s the Falls by a man armed with a small black and silver handgun, which he held in his left hand. The lone gunman entered the store and demanded money from two cashiers on duty, according to an RCIPS report. The robber pointed what appeared to be a handgun at a 31-year-old male (cashier) and said to him, “Give mi di money.”  The cashier handed over a sum of cash to the gunman from his till.

She removed a sum of cash from her till and handed it over to him. He then made his exit through the entrance door and turned left of the store and disappeared, police said.

A total of CI$817 was reported stolen from the tills of both cashiers.

The gunman was said to be 5`5″ tall, slim built, dark complexion, dressed in dark coloured baseball cap with a purple coloured  peak, dark coloured bandana with light coloured pattern covering his face, dark coloured long-sleeved T-shirt, light blue distressed jeans pants with a hole to the rear right and to the right front side, white sneakers with a white pattern. He carried a green Kirk Supermarket plastic bag in his hand.

No shots were fired, and no one was physically injured.

This follows a robbery by a lone gunman at a Pop-a-Top liquor store in West Bay on 29 April, which was the third booze store hold-up in just one week. The Tortuga liquor store near the Strand Plaza on West Bay Road was robbed 22 April and then Blackbeard’s at Grand Harbour on 24 April. The first two robberies, however, were perpetrated by a man armed with a machete.
