(CNS): A 34-year-old man who is accused of shooting three women at a late night George Town session has been charged with wounding and possession of an unlicensed firearm but he is not facing an attempted murder charge, despite being accused of shooting one woman multiple times. Randy James Parchment was remanded in custody last week after appearing in court in connection with the case and is expected to appear later this month for a preliminary enquiry.

Parchment is accused of being one of two men who opened fire on three women at McField Square in the early hours of 28 March but it is understood the gunmen were believed to be aiming at another man. Missing the intended target, they shot one women numerous times. Two other women were also hit but received less serious injuries.

Parchment was arrested along with two other men a few days after the shooting in a targeted George Town operation but the others were released on police bail while investigations continue, the RCIPS have stated.
