HMP Northward

(CNS): A second member of staff from HMP Northward has been placed on required leave as a result of the ongoing internal investigation at the country’s main jailhouse after a covert camera was discovered in one of the management team’s offices. As the investigation progresses, prison officials said they will only release limited information but a spokesperson confirmed that another employee was sent home this week. They have not said if this is a member of management or an officer or whether it is a man or a woman. The second suspension comes following the discovery of a hidden camera in the air-conditioning ducts in the manager’s office. Although the prison has not confirmed any details, it is understood that the officer who was suspended last week may have installed the camera at the direction of another manager, which may have been as a result of another internal probe following allegations made about the manager concerned.

The prison has declined to comment on the details but Neil Lavis, the prison director, confirmed that he had not authorized any internal probe relating to the discovery of this camera and was not aware of allegations made about the manager.

They should send all of the prisoners home and close the prison. Cayman wouldn’t be too much more dangerous than it is already.
