Tourist dies after dive on Little Cayman

(CNS) Updated: Police have now named the 60-year-old  male visitor from the US who died on board a dive boat  in Little Cayman on Sunday 22 February. He is Arthur Edward Grindle of Oakland, Florida. Grindle returned to his dive boat after completing  two dives before experiencing difficulties and collapsed. He arrive in Little Cayman on Friday 20 February.  

This incident is under investigation by RCIPS uniformed officers in Little Cayman.

    Mr. Grindle was a frequent diver on Little Cayman. He appeared to be fit when I saw him in early January.

    There has been a few of these incidences particularly in Grand Cayman. In my opinion the issue is older individual who do not regularly exercise go out snorkeling or diving and physically cannot handle what seems to be an easy and safe adventure. My recommendation would be to do a quick physical check before renting equipment for their safety.
