(CNS): One of three men arrested in a North Side drugs and guns bust Sunday morning has also been arrested in relation to two murders which took place in West Bay in 2011. Police say that a 25-year-old man, who is resident in West Bay and picked up in the operation, is being questioned in relation to the gang-related killings of Robert Macford Bush (28) and Preston Ezekiel Rivers (19).

Bush was gunned down in Birch Tree Hill Road, West Bay, on 13 September 2011, and Rivers was killed four days later on Andersen Road, Off Conch Point Road, in the third shooting in the district in a spate of gang-related tit-for-tat murders. Police said that the man they have arrested had left the Cayman Islands in the immediate wake of the murders in 2011 but is now in custody.

Although Brian Borden was tried and convicted of Bush’s killing, no one has been charged with either the death of Andrew Baptist, who was killed on 15 September on Sand Hole Road, or Rivers, who was gunned down by two masked men in the still ongoing feud between the Birch Tree Hill and Logwoods gangs.

Following the death of Rivers two other men were shot just off Crewe Road on 19 September when the West Bay gang war moved to George Town. 18-year-old Jason Christian was killed while parked in a van in Cranbrook Drive. Keith Montague, 22 years old at the time, who was with Christian, survived after he was shot four times and was airlifted to the US for medical treatment.
