(CNS): Five men are currently in custody after two separate drug busts over the weekend. Police implied that an early morning raid on Sunday in North Side netted dangerous suspects after guns, ammunition, cash and drugs were seized during the arrest. The police said the operation was connected to an ongoing RCIPS initiative focusing on groups engaged in serious violent criminal activity.

Three men were arrested in the North Side bust for possession of illegal drugs, two firearms and live ammunition. Police officers also seized $5000 in cash, which may be the proceeds from criminal conduct, an RCIPS spokesperson added Monday.

“The professional manner in which the operation was conducted resulted without injuries to any of the parties involved,” the RCIPS stated. “This speaks to the emphasis placed by the RCIPS on the safety and wellbeing of the community and its officers when conducting operations of this type.”

Meanwhile, two men, aged 52 and 59, were arrested in West Bay on Friday 6 February following an operation on Eureka Drive. The men were arrested for possession of ganja and detectives also seized over CI $3,000 in cash, also suspected to have come from criminal earnings. The men were bailed to return to the George Town Police Station at a later date as the investigation continues.

The sooner we acknowledge that we have a WIDE OPEN WOUND that needs many bandages in unison, the sooner that WOUND will heal…..Denial doesn’t cut it anymore……
