(CNS): A 71-year-old male visitor to the Cayman Islands from Minnesota in the United States died on Monday afternoon following a snorkelling trip in East End. Police said uniformed officers in East End received a report of a snorkeller in distress off the coast of the Morritt’s Tortuga resort. The man was on an organised snorkel tour when he reportedly encountered difficulties breathing.

As the man was taken back to shore, members of the snorkel party assisted with CPR before he was taken by ambulance to the ER at George Town hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said the man was visiting Grand Cayman with his wife.

You would think by now someone would mark the channel where there is a constant problem with a rip tide . Then forbid people from swimming so close to it.
