Mugging victim kicked and punched in George Town

(CNS): A man was assaulted and robbed on Eastern Avenue in the very early hours of Saturday. Police said that the victim had just left a business establishment in the vicinity of Dolphin Centre around 12:47am on 10 January and was waiting for friends when he was approached by two or three males who assaulted and demanded his cell phone and cash. The man, who is a resident of George Town, received punches and kicks to his face and body and was robbed of his cell phone and wallet containing money.

However, police said the victim did not receive any serious injuries as a result of the assault. The offenders left on foot towards North Church Street but the only description of them is that they are of dark complexion, had low-cut hair and were wearing jeans and dark coloured t-shirts.
