(CNS): A couple walking along the West Bay Road on Sunday afternoon have both been admitted to hospital with serious injuries after they were run over by an out of control car. Police have arrested the driver of a red Ford Shelby on suspicion of dangerous driving and leaving the scene of an accident after he hit the man and woman when they were on the sidewalk by Villas of the Galleon.

The George Town man who was driving the car is believed to have lost control of his vehicle and struck the couple, who were walking in the opposite direction. The man received serious injuries to his face and was airlifted to a hospital in the US, while his wife remains in the George Town hospital with a head injury. The 49-year-old driver has been bailed to return to George Town Police Station at a later date.
