Two men charged over courier robbery
(CNS): Police have charged two men in connection with the daylight robbery of a courier outside an insurance firm in George Town earlier this month. A spokesperson for the RCIPS said a 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old man, both from West Bay, were charged with robbery and possession of an unlicensed firearm in regards to the Sprint robbery on 4 October in the car park at the offices of BritCay Insurance Company on Eastern Avenue. The courier, who worked for Sprint, was reportedly held up at gunpoint outside the insurance building by one man, who was seen fleeing the crime in a Mitsubushi after threatening the driver and stealing undisclosed property from him.
The two men are expected to appear in court on Monday, 22 October.
Information on this or any other crime can be passed to George Town police station on 949-4222, the RCIPS tip-line 949-7777 or Crime Stoppers on 800-8477(TIPS).
